Project Overview:
ITAC are a manufacturer of industry specific adhesives with first class facilities and an expanded laboratory based in Radcliffe, Manchester. As a long-standing and valued client, Walker Electrical managed a new electrical installation at the facility following a fire in part of the factory. We also provide a wide range of maintenance services onsite including annual testing and swift support for any breakdowns to minimise any disruption to their services.
The new electrical installation presented ITAC with the opportunity to upgrade the energy efficiency of their facilities. We designed and installed a new lighting scheme with LED lighting alongside the latest motor controls. These have soft/start and star/delta motor starters, variable speed drives and a wide variety of other motor controls offering much improvement on their previous system.
To ensure the ongoing safety and security of all electrics, our 2394/2395 qualified engineers also undertake essential annual fixed wire testing and emergency light testing of all light fittings, wiring, sockets, equipment, control panels and machinery. As part of our service we also manage minor remedial works onsite. Thermal imaging is also undertaken on pumps, motors and the electrical distribution system to ensure quality and detect any potential faults or fire risks. We regularly update ITAC ensuring they’re fully aware of results and any upcoming test dates.
Key Challenges:
ITAC required a swift turnaround of the new installation from designing and issuing working drawings to the complete installation testing and commissioning, which we achieved on time and on budget. This meant installing new machinery in a live working environment within strict health and safety guidelines; as well as working alongside mechanical contractors.
