Here at Walker Electrical, we are Preston’s leading electrical experts. From commercial PAT testing, to residential lighting, we provide solutions for a wide range of electrical issues. This includes industrial electrics and lighting. One project we have recently worked on has been the installation of high bay lighting in a storage warehouse for BAKO North Western. But why were high bay LED’s chosen? And what are the advantages of high bay LED lighting for warehouses?
What are high bay LED lights?
High bay LED’s are perfect in any venue with high ceilings, not just warehouses. They have almost no glare, and are visually comfortable, while offering equal light distribution. Compared to other options, like fluorescent lights and compact fluorescent lights, high bay LED’s can offer better lighting levels, with increased energy efficiency.
What are the advantages of high bay LED lighting for warehouses?
1. Energy savings
This type of lighting uses up to 80% less energy than other lighting type. That’s 80% you could save on your energy bills! Especially if you couple this lighting type with PIR motion sensors, which is exactly what we did over at BAKO North Western.
Impressively, high bay LED lights can last around 10 times longer than CFL and fluorescent lights. This is because when they are switched on, they do not emit any heat. They are instead fitted with a heat sink, that removes the heat from the bulb, allowing it to last longer. This has the double bonus of also keeping your warehouse cool, so you can save another 20% of your bill costs on air conditioning!
3. Sight Advantages
LED lights simply distribute the light better than any other option. So you can have an even light spread across your whole warehouse or facility. In addition, you wont get any flickering and it is easier on the eye for anyone working in your warehouse.
