Making electricity savings in warehouses

For a lot of industries, warehouses are an integral part of the set up. But they can be a real money pit when it comes to electricity and energy consumption. But it doesn’t have to be. In fact, there are some small scale changes you can make to help you save money. So what are the effective options for making electricity savings in warehouses? And what kind of savings can you expect?

What are the effective options for making electricity savings in warehouses?

If you want to stop paying over the odds on your energy bills, to run your warehouse, there are some things you can consider. And saving electricity in warehouses doesn’t have to be too complicated. Our solutions can include:

  • LED lighting- LED lights last 50 times as long as an incandescent bulb, and 25 times as long as a halogen bulb. This is because they draw less electricity to power themselves, and have a built in heat sink. Which means that the light does not get as hot, and does not get damaged as easily by regular use. This means that you will pay less for your electricity bills, because LED bulbs use less electricity.
  • Motion lighting- Lights being left on for no reason is a huge waste. And it happens in every industry, and even domestic homes. But installing motion lighting in your warehouse could really reduce the amount of wasted electricity. This is because they will switch off when no motion is detected. So your lights will never be left switched on for no reason again.
  • Fan systems- installing an electric fan can help to keep the air in your warehouse moving. Which means that the temperature in your warehouse will improve in the warmer months. And this can be much more cost effective than air conditioning. However, it will only cool the temperature to a particular level. So you may still need air conditioning if it gets very hot in your location.
  • Tamper-proof thermostats- use thermostats to control the heating in winter, and they will allow the warehouse to heat to a certain temperature, before switching back off. Tamper proof thermostats cant be adjusted by employees, so you will save energy.
